Tripp’s 27 lead Wofford over Western Carolina 88-86 in OT

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Corey Tripp scored seven of his team-high 27 points in overtime to help Wofford hold off Western Carolina 88-86 on Saturday night.

Tripp had six rebounds for the Terriers (13-10, 6-4 Southern Conference). Jackson Sivills added 13 points while shooting 4 for 7 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 4 of 5 from the free throw line, and he also had six rebounds. Kyler Filewich shot 4 of 7 from the field and 1 for 8 from the line to finish with nine points.

Vonterius Woolbright finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for the Catamounts (16-7, 5-5). Western Carolina also got 23 points from DJ Campbell. Russell Jones also had 17 points.

Both teams next play Wednesday. Wofford visits East Tennessee State and Western Carolina plays Citadel at home.
