Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build – Packleader

In this Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build Guide I’ll show you how to play my Packleader Werewolf Build, which is a leveling focused Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build meant for World Tiers 1 & 2 that uses Companions and Critical Damage to deal very high burst damage, as well as sustained damage with Companions. If you’ve been looking for a good Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build that focuses on dealing high damage while also using Companions then this Diablo 4 Werewolf Build is for you!

  • If you would like to see our advanced version of this Build, be sure to check out the Shredder Werewolf Build, which has more of a Poison focus that this build, and is aimed at Levels 50+ and World Tier 3.

Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build – Packleader

The general strategy for this Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Leveling Build has two parts. First is using Shred to AoE enemies down quickly, and second is to use your Companions’ Skills to help wear down enemies. Companion Skills don’t consume any Spirit, and Poison Creeper is one of the best AoEs Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Builds have. Additionally, we will have a chance to refresh our Companion Skills via a Lucky Hit, thanks to the Packleader Spirit Boon. This will give you some serious fire power when this happens!

Nighthowler’s Aspect boosts both your own and Companion (as well as nearby Players) Critical Chance for 3 seconds. This makes you all deal more damage, which is fantastic, and you will spam this often due to how fast things die, which also helps to keep your HP topped off.

Another Aspect you can get, though kind of far, but definitely worth the trip is Shepard’s Aspect. This Legendary Aspect increases the damage of your Core Skills (in this case Shred) by a percentage based on how many Companions you have out. We have a total of 2 out at any given time with this Build, which makes Shred deal anywhere from 16% to 32% more damage depending on whether or not you but it on Armor or your two-handed weapon. That’s a lot of damage!

The synergies don’t end there however, as the Masochistic Spirit Boon heals you when you Critically Strike with Shapeshifting Skills, in this case Shred, and Scythe Talons and Avian Wrath boost your Critical Chance and Critical Damage. Make sure you bond to the Eagle in order to get both of these Spirit Boons!

Stormclaw’s Aspect makes you AoE for more damage when you Critically Hit with Shred, and Aspect of the Unsatiated will boost subsequent Shred attacks when you kill enemies with Shred, which helps propel you further and further into a damage dealing machine. Both of these Aspects can be found in relatively early dungeons, so they are easy to get too!

Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Leveling Build – Skill Distribution

Each Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Leveling Build is made up of the 6 Active Skills they have equipped and changing these Skills can drastically change the way the Druid Class in Diablo IV plays. In this section we’ll take a look at what Skills you should slot for the Poisonous Claws Build. Your Skill distribution should look something like this:

LEVEL 25 WEREWOLF DRUID SKILLS
SkillPoints Spent
 Storm Strike 1
 Enhanced Storm Strike 1
 Fierce Storm Strike 1
 Shred 5
 Enhanced Shred 1
 Raging Shred 1
 Predatory Instinct 3
 Blood Howl 1
 Enhanced Blood Howl 1
 Innate Blood Howl 1
 Poison Creeper 1
 Enhanced Poison Creeper 1
 Brutal Poison Creeper 1
 Wolves 2
 Brutal Wolf Pack 1
 Ravens 1
 Enhanced Ravens 1
 Ferocious Ravens 1

The above list gives you the general order to invest in Skills, but keep in mind that you should prioritize picking up new Skills over investing in passives, so pick up passives later if you can get new Skills when you level up.

How to Handle Packs of Enemies

So the general strategy for handling packs of enemies with this Diablo 4 Werewolf Build is using Shred to teleport into enemies, dropping Poison Creeper afterwards, if enemies are abundant, and then proceeding to drop Ravens onto the enemy group before continuing with an onslaught of Shred and Storm Strike.

Poison Creeper

Poison Creeper is one of the best all around Diablo 4 Druid Skills because of its high damage and Crowd Control capabilities, and it should find a home in just about every Diablo 4 Druid Build because of this. What this Skill does is it Immobilizes enemies in a rather large AoE radius and Poisons them all at the same time. This weakens enemies significantly while providing an opportunity to Shred them to death and drop Ravens in the middle of them.

Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build - Poison Creeper

Make sure to upgrade Poison Creeper with Enhanced Poison Creeper and Brutal Poison Creeper for a longer Immobilization duration and a +20% chance to Crit against enemies in the vines. This is huge for this Build and helps you further generate critical damage.

Shred

Shred is the bread and butter of this Build and ideally you’d use it to attack between the cooldowns of your Companion Skills. It strikes 3x with each subsequent hit dealing more damage, and it hits in a conal AoE so you will hit multiple enemies with it. Because of the Legendary Aspects mentioned above we deal tons of damage with this thing, and when you get your Key Passive: Lupine Ferocity this will have a guaranteed Critical Hit for massive damage on every second use of it.

Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build - Shred

Be sure to max this Skill out as it’s where the majority of your damage with come from, and take the Enhanced Shred and Raging Shred upgrades. I prefer Raging Shred over Primal Shred, even though Primal has more synergy here (boosting Crit Damage), simply because it hits in a wider AoE and Poison is very valuable against Bosses. Additionally, you often jump to the wrong target with Primal Shred, since it gap closes on each of the 3 strikes, whereas Raging Shred is only on the first.

Ravens

Ravens will periodically strike out and damage enemies, and once you have the Brutal Ravens you’ll have 5 that do this regularly. The Enhanced Ravens passive will further boost your Critical Chance vs. enemies standing its AoE when you use the Active version of it, which synergizes nicely with this Build as well. We don’t use the Ferocious Ravens upgrade because we gain Vulnerability from Storm Strike, but if you don’t have the Shepard’s Aspect, then Ferocious is a better choice.

Blood Howl

You’ll use Blood Howl pretty much any time it is off cooldown if you don’t have max Spirit, which is most of the time. With the Innate Blood Howl passive it will provide you 20 Spirit, making it easier to use Shred more often, which is why you’ll spam it, as this helps fuel your Shredding. Be more selective about using it in Boss fights since its primary function is to heal, and you the healing is more important than the Spirit in these encounters.

Boss Fights

Boss fights are handled a bit differently than trash pulls because they cannot be Crowd Controlled, however, this Diablo 4 Werewolf Druid Build is still incredibly strong against Bosses.

Storm Strike

Storm Strike is your Basic Attack and you will of course use this in trash pulls, but it is also essential for Boss fights. And the reason I use Storm Strike here is that it generates more Spirit than Claw, but also hits multiple enemies, where Claw does not. Additionally, Aspect of the Unsatiated only buffs Werewolf Skills, and Storm Strike is not a Werewolf Skill. This ensures that you don’t buff your Basic Attack damage on accident, and save this buff for future Shred attacks.

Once you have the Fierce Storm Strike upgrade, it also has a 50% chance to apply Vulnerable to enemies hit, which increases the damage they take from you. This is huge for tough to kill enemies, and you should aim to alternate between Shred and this when fighting Bosses to not only build Spirit, but to also reapply Vulnerable.

Wolves

Wolves are much better against Bosses than they are in trash pulls, but they can also be effective against Elite enemies as well, and it’s a nice bit of burst damage when you use their Active Skill. But where they really shine in Boss fights is by tanking the Boss and taking some pressure off yourself. This allows you more time to attack and setup your combos as you avoid AoEs etc, and don’t have a Boss breathing down your neck.

Final Tips

Bonuses you want to look for on your gear are Critical Strike Chance, Critical Strike Damage, Core Skill Damage, Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies, and Damage to Slowed Enemies. The major focus here is on Critical Strikes so prioritize that. Anything that you can take to increase these two things are valuable because you do both often, and Stormclaw’s Aspect will make you AoE with Shred when you Critically Strike, so make sure you get that when you can.

Remember that Neurotoxin is extremely valuable for this Build because it turns your Poisons into Slows which allows you to use things like Damage vs. Crowd Controlled enemies and Damage vs. Slowed enemies to further increase your damage. You only need 1 point to make this happen, so make sure you do this as soon as you can!

Lastly, when you can get the Clarity passive it really helps with this build, because as you rotate between Storm Strike and Shred, you will shift back and forth between human and Werewolf form, which will provide you up to 6 Spirit, helping to keep your Shredding going.

  1. Yeah, that idea kind of clicked into my head yesterday while I was playing. If I’m playing packleader and want to go into toxic shredder start respecing and working from 26-50 on that build. That makes sense.

  2. Usually you would pick the level 50 build you’re aiming for and start gathering stuff and slowly growing that way.

  3. What do we do between levels 26 and 50 with this build? I like to follow your build/guides but want more info for the 26-50 journey.

  4. Is this a reasonable completion of this build: [Link removed because new account]
