Automation policy

Some stories on this site are published by the TaiwanDefence Automation Desk. That name is a publishing desk, not a human reporter.

The desk submits a story through the site's publishing interface. The server checks the payload, requires source and rights attestations, and applies the publisher's mode, daily ceiling, hourly ceiling, and minimum interval before anything goes live. The server assigns the byline. The caller cannot set the author, the publication time, or a remote image address.

A hero image is stored on this site only when a rights record is supplied and the file passes the media checks. Otherwise the article uses a generated graphic. The graphic is not a photograph of the event.

A person who controls the publication switches can stop publishing. A published story can be corrected or removed. The editorial standards and corrections pages describe those practices.

This page does not name a legal entity, an owner, or a funding source. Those details have not been supplied for publication.
