TAIPEI —

AEVEX Aerospace confirmed on 2 October 2026 that Lynx unmanned surface vessels have been shipped to Taiwan by the US government and transferred to the Marine Corps for ongoing training. The company made the force-level statement at a Taipei briefing, describing the boats as already in Taiwan this year for training before the Marine Corps took custody to continue those tasks.

Liberty Times Military quoted AEVEX saying the Lynx handoff moves combat-proven maritime uncrewed craft into Taiwanese Marine training rather than leaving them as sales concepts. Central News Agency and China Times accounts the same day recorded senior vice president Craig Anders stating Lynx boats are with Taiwan's Marines and that AEVEX wants other services to field similarly flexible systems.

AEVEX said it aims to keep the Marine Corps boats on current technology so Taiwan holds equipment needed for operations, and that Asia-focused staff have held wide talks with army, navy, Marine Corps and air force counterparts. Officials also argued US sustainment already supporting American drone and boat fleets can accelerate maintenance for Taiwan without creating a full logistics chain from zero.

The firm briefed COMPASS-X autonomy for coordinating air, surface and undersea platforms and cited Black Sea uncrewed-boat mine-countermeasure experience as operational background. Those points support why a Marine Corps Lynx training set matters for coastal uncrewed concepts, but the verifiable new anchor remains the US-to-Marine transfer itself.

This Lynx Marine Corps delivery is not the same event as TaiwanDefence's earlier piece on pairing US autonomy tech with Taiwanese yards for sea-drone fleets. That prior story tracked industrial yard partnerships around different vendors and production concepts; it did not report a US government shipment of Lynx hulls into Marine Corps training custody.

Air-system partnership talk with Coretronic at the same briefings is background only and does not establish the Lynx transfer. The distinct development is the named Lynx USV class under Marine Corps training after US delivery, as stated by AEVEX on 2 October and corroborated across Taiwanese outlets.

Public reporting still does not list how many Lynx boats are in Taiwan or when training will shift to contingency tasking. Even so, the multi-outlet confirmation that Marines now train on US-delivered Lynx USVs marks a concrete uncrewed maritime milestone for Taiwan's amphibious force.

AEVEX said finding strong local partners matters more than early publicity as it embeds technology rather than only selling finished products. With Lynx already inside Marine Corps training, that embedding claim now rests partly on hulls under Taiwanese military control.
